A Right to Choose Need Not Negate Your Right to Healing Rites

This illuminating presentation encourages an open exchange of ideas regarding themes of importance for women, themes that are too often considered taboo. Your right to choose does not have to negate your right to articulate your feelings after your choice. To speak freely without stigma, shame, or blame about your experience is also your right. Voicing your feelings about your reproductive and sexual history is the sound of an empowered woman. Pregnancy termination and womb loss can at times result in unexpected responses in a woman’s life, including to her sexual health and confidence. This class will explore issues of intimacy, sensuality, and sexual energy that some women encounter after womb related events.

Class Outline

• We will engage in an informative dialogue concerning women’s stories about abortion, miscarriage, and other womb-centered events.

• Case histories will help in understanding the complexity of this topic.

• Experiential practices will include somatic and meditative exercises.

• A powerful breathing technique will be taught that can free blocked energy and support a greater depth of healing. This practice enhances sexual vitality and provides a pathway for pleasure and wellness.
